How To Use Your Lead Arm In The Javelin Throw

In this blog I am going to be talking about why the lead arm is so helpful for the javelin throw.
Too many throws will rip down their lead arm causing their back arm to prebend before they throw, causing lack of pull on the Javelin and shortening their arm. This can cause elbow issues and improper flight path.
Another thing you see is when athletes will land with their lead arm fully across their body causing them to rip the lead arm across in order to come through with the throwing arm
I like to think about the throw as a "roll under" the javelin, and in order to roll under the javelin, try to roll the lead arm down.
As the throwing arm mimics the lead arm in all instances.
Long arm in the front sets up long arm in the back
Lead arm coming down early causing pre bend and short throwing arm
